If this is you...

... this journal entry is important. But first, click here to read a fun story: [link]

Everybody done? Good. Now, before we continue, all non-Xbox 360 owners, non-gamers, and over 50s may leave the room, as you're excused. Everybody else, listen up.

If you own an Xbox 360, which you purchased, for yourself, that you use regularly, and that article accurately describes you, here's what you need to do...

Unplug your console, pack up all the cables, and put it back in its box. Then, donate your console to a friend or charity. Next, write a nice note to your family, saying you'll be going away for a while, grab the nearest firearm, and shoot yourself in the fucking mouth because you're too godamn stupid to participate in humanity anymore.

I... just... godammit. Seriously. Are you kidding me? What's tomorrow's headline going to be? "Most Drivers Unaware: Steering Wheel Controls Car!"

ATEN HUTT!!!
yea but thank goodness for people like that, gives the rest of us something to laugh at:)....glad my kids never got into gaming ...they both play sports where they actually go outside and hit,run and catch on their own..not with their thumbs and an a,b or c button:)
i purchased a 360 fully knowing that i would probably never take advantage of its HD capabilities, only because i can't see myself being able to aford a HD TV in the near future

but this doesn't phase me at all, as the current picture quality is excellent, and i don't think paying thousands of dollars just so the picture quality is slightly better is worth it

and just a quick question (kinda) on this topic, are the inbuilt DVD players in the 360 region coded or not, as i'm getting conflicting reports?
And that's fair enough, it just amazes me that early adopters (and let's face it, most of them have to be, anyone purchasing a $400 US console is either an early adopter, fairly serious gamer, or has a bit too much cash to blow), and so many of them, the vast majority in fact, are completely oblivious to what is one of the major selling points of the entire system. It just stuns me that you could drop that much money on something without even realising that.

As for the DVD player, don't know. I do know some smaller countries (Australia included) end up with regionless players inadvertantly, since it's cheaper for a manufacturer to forgo putting region locks on them, so they just slap "Region 4 only" on the label and hope nobody notices it's regionless. So yeah, it's possible, track down something not R4 and find out.

Oh, and as for the price of HDTVs, you're absolutely right, but there is one way you can get some of the advantages of HD without needing to drop a few thousand on a new TV. If you've got a decent monitor with a VGA input, you can just buy the Xbox 360 VGA cable and run the console through your monitor, which is essentially the same thing as HD, and is especially nice of you've got a widescreen setup. You can check that out here >>> [link]
NBA 2K7 looks sexy in HD on my Bravia. :)
wow... it's appalling how many of the things you're currently doing are completely my fault. brilliantly tacky 80s music? check. superlative reading material? double check. chocolatey, peanut buttery deliciousness to fuel the entire endeavor? triple check. and i am one cosmically lucky motherfucker :)
